During the drought and internal conflicts, EOC-DICAC has involved in life saving operations in Tigray, Amhara of North & South Wollo, North and South Gondar, East Gojjam, North Shoa and Waghimra zones and other regions. The church has distributed a total of 331,982Mt food assistance. On the average 16599Mt of food per year has been distributed since 1985. The relief intervention has rescued the lives of 22664687 vulnerable Ethiopians in the Tigray & Amhara regions alone.
The relief and rehabilitation program has long been in the Amhara and Tigray regions since this northern part of the country has been impoverished due to man made and natural calamities such as prolonged war and drought, which prevailed for decades. But currently the program is extending its operational areas of other regions such as SNNPR and the Oromiya regional state focusing on rehabilitation and development interventions.
Following the relief assistance EOC-DICAC has rehabilitated millions of citizens after the disaster is over in Wobera, Wolaita, Enderta, Fogera, Jinka, Lasta, Waghimra, Adama boset, Abomisa and Menz areas. It provided more than 20,400 quintals of seed, about 55,000 different farm tools, and about 6,900 oxen to the needy.
