Empowering Frontline Health Workers: 6-Day Vaccination Training Conducted in Malle and Nyangatom Woredas
Malle & Nyangatom, July 6, 2025 – A six-day training on vaccination implementation was held from June 30 to July 5, 2025, for 28 Health Extension Workers and ITAs in Malle and Nyangatom woredas. Led by four senior trainers, the program aimed to strengthen immunization delivery and outreach in hard-to-reach communities.
During the opening session, trainers underscored the critical role of frontline health workers in ensuring the success of Ethiopia’s immunization efforts. They emphasized the importance of the training as a tool for empowering those who serve on the ground.
Participants received updated training manuals and engaged in interactive sessions, including group discussions and practical exercises. They expressed confidence that the skills gained would help improve immunization services, especially for marginalized populations. The program is expected to significantly boost immunization coverage in the target woredas, especially among communities that have historically faced barriers to accessing health services.
