EOTC DICAC Strengthens Early Childhood Development Protection Services in Addis Ababa

The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church Development and Inter-Church Aid Commission-Refugees and Returnees Affair Department (EOTC-DICAC/RRAD), with support from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, has strengthened protection services on Early Childhood Development (ECD) in Yeka Abado Woreda 14, Lemi Kura Subcity of Addis Ababa.

The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church Development and Inter-Church Aid Commission-Refugees and Returnees Affair Department (EOTC-DICAC/RRAD), with support from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, has strengthened protection services on Early Childhood Development (ECD) in Yeka Abado Woreda 14, Lemi Kura Subcity of Addis Ababa.
On November 12, 2025, with a total budget of 2,947,145.45 ETB the protection initiative supported 59 right holders, providing food items aimed at to improving the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable children and their caregivers.
The support was distributed in the presence of the Woreda Administrator and the Steering Committees, highlights the strong collaboration between the project and local authorities. In addition to the distribution, the initiative conducted community awareness session focusing on child protection, positive parenting, and creating safe environments for young children.
According to EOTC DICAC ECD project coordinator, the intervention has significantly enhanced protection outcome and improved access to essential service for families in need through supporting local service providers offering health, legal, and social assistance.
The project continues to provide case management service for at risk children, strengthen community-based protection mechanisms and support the holistic development of young children in Yeka Abado Woreda 14.
