Mutua Kimau, Gavi MD Finance Focal Person from Nairobi, visited the EOC DICAC team to hold an open and constructive discussion on key financial and compliance matters affecting Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) implementing immunization program in Ethiopia.
EOTC DICAC work closely with government institutions at both national and sub-national levels to reach marginalized populations, especially in remote rural areas. Over recent years, our contribution has been instrumental in improving the quality, equity, and coverage of the Expanded Program on Immunization, targeting zero-dose and under-immunized children.
The main objective of Mutua Kimau’s visit was to support CSOs through targeted capacity-building efforts, including office visits, technical discussions, and practical guidance on compliance, reporting, financial workbooks, asset management, and budget adjustments. The visit aimed to provide hands-on support, clarify expectations, and strengthen CSOs’ capacity to effectively manage Gavi-funded grants.
The visit reinforced Gavi’s commitment to strengthening CSO systems and ensuring effective, accountable delivery of immunization services across Ethiopia.
MannionDaniels, in consortium with Oxford Policy Management, has been contracted to deliver the CSO Fund Manager mechanism in Ethiopia. Under this arrangement, CSOs continue to play a critical role in supporting Ethiopia’s health system, particularly in expanding immunization services among underserved and hard-to-reach communities.
