In a significant initiative under the JISRA project, aimed at fostering peace and promoting religious equality, a comprehensive training program for youth advocates was held in Ziway/Batu, Shashemene & Arsi Negele organized by the EOTC DICAC.
This program brought together youth participants, representing diverse backgrounds and faiths. The program focused on engaging participants in thought-provoking discussions and hands-on activities centered on the essential themes of religious tolerance and peace advocacy.
Key highlights of the training program included a series of interactive sessions led by experienced experts in areas such as conflict resolution, interfaith dialogue, and youth empowerment. Young advocates had the opportunity to learn about the crucial role they can play in fostering understanding, respect, and empathy among different faith communities.
Through collaborative discussions, role-playing exercises, and community-building activities, participants not only developed their advocacy skills but also formed meaningful connections with one another, laying the groundwork for future peace initiatives in their communities.
The dialogue session concluded in the participants’ reflection to take action within their communities, utilizing the knowledge and skills they gained to promote peace and religious equality in their everyday lives. This event marks a pivotal step toward nurturing a generation of informed and active youth leaders dedicated to building a more inclusive and harmonious society.
