The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church Development and Inter-Church Aid Commission supported of five dairy cows and other materials that costed 6 million birr to Menagesha St. Mary Monastery. In addition, the Commission, in collaboration with the French charity SOS Chrétiens d’Orient, donated milk processing machines, refrigerators, generators, Montarbo speakers, computers, and other office supplies.
The Commission provided these materials to support the monastery in engaging in sustainable income-generating activities and to reduce dependency on external assistance. Commissioner Yilikal Shiferaw emphasized that such support plays a vital role in strengthening the monastery’s spiritual mission and enhancing its educational services.
Mr. François, who attended the event on behalf of SOS Chrétiens d’Orient, expressed his appreciation, stating: “This sacred mission is a great blessing for me. As a Catholic, it was a meaningful experience not only to visit this wonderful country but also to stand in solidarity with my Christian brothers and sisters. Through this partnership with the Development Commission, we initiated our first project together. After many months of hard work, I am pleased that we have successfully brought this project to reality.”
