Government institutions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and civil society organizations (CSOs) gathered for a national workshop aimed at reflecting on the outcomes of COP30 and discussing Ethiopia’s way forward on climate action.

Government institutions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and civil society organizations (CSOs) gathered for a national workshop aimed at reflecting on the outcomes of COP30 and discussing Ethiopia’s way forward on climate action.
Presentation on Ethiopia’s engagement and outcomes at COP30, delivered by Mr. Mensur Dessie, Climate Institutional Development Advisor at the Ministry of Planning and Development. The presentation emphasized Ethiopia’s negotiation priorities, achievements, and lessons learned from the global climate conference.
key actors involved in climate policy, advocacy, and implementation reviewed Ethiopia's engagement at global climate negotiations COP 30 and discussed how to align global climate negotiations with national priorities. Inclusion of Article 9 on climate finance in the agenda were identified as key priorities to be taken forward as homework for future.
The workshop concluded with marking of launching collaborative platform aimed at enhancing coordination among government, NGOs, and CSOs in advancing Ethiopia’s climate agenda.
Logistics preparedness, youth engagement, strengthened stakeholder coordination, are practical next steps for strengthening Ethiopia’s climate action for the upcoming COP32, which Ethiopia will organize 2027.
